Have you ever considered being an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist or going into speech therapy? Health care is one of the world’s fastest growing careers and health care professionals are in high demand. Come along to this session to experience what a career is like in these Allied Health areas and learn about the different career paths this diverse degree can offer at La Trobe University Albury-Wodonga Campus.

The diversity of a Business Degree can take you to some surprising places. Ever thought about how Accounting can help expose criminals? What it takes to design and deliver sport services, or what really influenced you to buy those jeans last week? If you’re into sport or travel or film or floristry, these industries need business-minded people too. Find out more ways to combine business with your passion and discover how the flexibility of business study can equip you for a fantastic career as a leader of tomorrow.

Campus Life

Where can I stay and how much does it cost? What is it like to live on campus? I'm nervous about the social events, what am I in for? Take a tour of the onsite accommodation and experience some of the ice-breaker activities that new students use to get to know each other and the facilities on campus. The tour will involve both current residential students and staff. Changing your lifestyle is inevitable, but this session can make it an easy transition.

Diploma to Degree - Nursing, Childcare & Social Work

Not sure if you will achieve the ATAR required? Not going for an ATAR and a little worried about going straight to university? Come and hear about our pathway options. Those who have done the Diploma to Degree Pathway have raved about the beneficial experience. Come along and hear about the programs on Nursing, Childcare and Social work that start with a Diploma at TAFE and complete with a Bachelor at La Trobe University. Listen to current first-year students discuss their experiences throughout the program.

Education

A career in education can inspire others and make positive changes to the lives of students everywhere. Education can lead you to the classroom, yes, but it can also send you to the great outdoors or even to be an industry leader. Find out about the range of different education career paths, learn about how professional placements work and how the hands-on experience will prepare you for a career in and outside the classroom.

Nursing

Gain an understanding of some of the skills required by nurses in clinical practice. Experience a simulated clinical ward and nursing laboratory located right here on campus. In this session you can take part in caring for a simulation patient and interact with a range of equipment our students use as they train to become a Registered Nurse.

Paramedicine

The paramedic role is constantly evolving and paramedics of the future will be much more than emergency care providers. Learn about the shift to providing community health care, humanitarian aid, and practical strategies for prevention of illness. We offer an innovative paramedic practice with honours program designed to equip you with an exciting range of employment opportunities.

Pathways

Did you know there is more than one way to get into university? Learn from our current Tertiary Enabling Program students and staff about the benefits of doing the TEP program before you start your university degree. The Pathways Program teaches you writing at a university level, upskilling you in academic areas, while also supporting you and giving you the confidence to study. No ATAR required for this course.

Psychology

Curious about human behaviour? This interactive workshop will explore the types of psychological processes that happen during a typical day. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of the science of psychology as it applies to the every day, as well as a glimpse of what studying psychology at university might be like. Why not study psychology for the varied career opportunities?

Science

Learn about the many career options that a Science Degree can support while getting a real-life experience in our science labs and experience the hands-on practice of what scientists do. Want to know how to cure cancer, Alzheimer’s disease or learn how to keep better care of the Murray River? These are just a few of the things you can explore when undertaking a Science Degree.

Social arts

Want a course with the flexibility to follow your passions and study a range of subject areas while travelling the world? A Bachelor of Arts offers broad skills, critical thinking and a worldly approach. English, History and Sociology are just some of the subjects you can explore that can lead to an exciting career in archaeology, museum curation, librarian, policy adviser or international development officer, just to name a few.

Social work

Social workers gain experience in many areas from many relationships, including parenting, mediation, child protection and domestic violence to working with people with disabilities. They can assist individuals, families and communities, change policies and develop programs. You can make a real difference with social work, come and find out how at our workshop.
