If you’re an Indigenous student with a passion for giving back to your community and a desire to study at university, then I-Aspire is for you.
I-Aspire is a dynamic leadership program that gives you a pathway towards an Aspire early offer to La Trobe. You’ll build on your skills and talents through a range of different activities, including academic boot camp, a cultural immersion program, networking opportunities and more.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for I-Aspire if you’re an Indigenous high school student from Years 9-12. Students interested in joining I-Aspire should register their interest using the registration form below.
What can I access as an I-Aspire student?
Academic boot camps
You’ll be invited on to campus to undertake a series of academic boot camps hosted by key teaching staff and student mentors/ambassadors. These boot camps will empower you to increase both your academic skill level and your academic confidence. You’ll learn how to identify your own learning style and adapt it to the expectations of university learning.
Workshops will include:
- assignment writing
- preparing for exams
- oral presentation skills
- time and study management
- written communication skills.
Cultural Immersion Program
The Cultural Immersion Program will provide you with community support and cultural direction. Along with your I-Aspire peers, you’ll be invited to examine and develop your own cultural understanding, connect with an Indigenous community, and receive mentoring and support.
As an I-Aspire student, you’ll also receive exclusive one-on-one mentoring from senior peers, including tutoring, life-skills training and coaching. This is a great chance to ask any questions you may have about university study, professional life and other areas.
