Subject outline

In this subject, you will be provided with the knowledge to design specifically tailored training plans with an emphasis on athlete populations. You will learn how to evaluate the demands of a given sport, then prescribe targeted training interventions to enhance relevant strength, endurance and speed qualities. Periodisation strategies will be discussed to enable the short- and long-term development of the athlete with respect to their sport. In the practical component, you will learn how to instruct advanced resistance training exercises and conduct advanced field tests of fitness qualities.
