Subject outline

In this subject you will be introduced to the physiological, structural, cognitive, motor and cultural demands associated with growth and development across the human lifespan (i.e., from prenatal to older adulthood), and examine the role that exercise plays in maintaining health and wellness within each life stage. You will be introduced to the changes in cognitive and motor development that occur throughout childhood to late adulthood, as well as the indications and contraindications of exercise related to each life stage.
