PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY
Credit points: 30
In this subject students will be given the opportunity to learn the scientific and clinical bases of contemporary sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in professional development programs approved by the School of Physiotherapy and accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Relevant anatomy, physiology, radiology, medical sciences, psychology, basic clinical reasoning and practical skills are taught with particular emphasis on clinical application and evidence based practice. In addition to the core material presented at approved professional development courses, students have the flexibility to enrol in other courses specific to their needs.

One 13.00 days professional development programs per study period from week 0 to week 0 and delivered via blended.
104 hours of attendance at professional development programs approved by the School of Physiotherapy and accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. This must include a spinal course of the equivalence of 20 hours or the Spinal 1 course (20 hours)if available in your state, Level 1 Sports course (12 hours) and Level 2 Sports course (20 hours total) which are offered by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. In addition to contact time, students are expected to complete pre and post course reading tasks as well as a written assignment for each course completed. Students enrolled in the combined masters program (HZSPMP or HZSPMY) who have already completed PTY5PDM may be eligible for credit for hours and assignments in this subject.
|total of 7,500 word assignments 750 words for each 10 hours need to be completed. HZSPMP, HZSPMY and HCSP students who have completed PTY5PDM are required to complete 50% of the assessment tasks.
