This subject explores the international politics of the Indo-Pacific region and focuses particularly on questions of international security and strategy through the lens of the Indo-Pacific's contested strategic geographic spaces. Drawing on theories from international relations, geopolitics, security analysis, strategic studies, political economy, and history, we will explore the following contested spaces: the East China Sea; the Taiwan Strait; the Korean Peninsula; the South China Sea; Island Southeast Asia; the South Pacific; the Indian Ocean; the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau; Central Asia; the Arctic and Antarctica.

SeminarWeek: 31 - 36
Two 2.50 hours seminar per week on weekdays during the day from week 31 to week 36 and delivered via blended.
Class requirements consist of 12 unique seminars, scheduled as 2 x 2.5 hour seminars per week during week during weeks 1-6 of semester. No seminars in weeks 7-12, which are set aside for students to work on the Research Assignment.
