In this subject you have the opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills in relation to: the aetiology and pathophysiology of inflammation, acute pain and the cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine systems across the lifespan and; diagnostic testing (haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, medical imaging) and pharmacology related to inflammation, acute pain and three of the National Health Priority Areas (cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine) across the lifespan. You will be introduced to the theoretical basis of pharmacology including: pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and to the responsibilities, practical skills and scope of practice of the registered nurse in medication administration.
