Subject outline

This subject draws on concepts from the Australian Curriculum for Mathematics, including the content and proficiency strands. Students will explore the nature of mathematics, the structure of the mathematics curriculum, the attributes of effective mathematics teaching and strategies to engage and support children's learning. Students will be given the opportunity to broaden their mathematical understanding through developing their knowledge and confidence with mathematics. Students will examine how such approaches contribute to their own learning and the implications for learners in schools.
