Subject outline

In this subject students will create a multi-campus, multi-art Festival comprising artworks, screenings, writings and performances. The students will work collaboratively to produce all aspects of the festival, such as content, marketing and publicity, scheduling, budgeting, and ticketing. The subject encourages interdisciplinary collaboration between the disciplinary cores of Writing, Visual Arts, Screen and Theatre, including cross-campus collaboration. The festival will be held across the University's multiple campuses and will invite interested spectators onto the campus. The festival will be outward-facing attracting a university and broader community audience. The students will reflect critically on their experience of festival making through forum discussions and seminars both across the Department of Creative Arts and specific to their discipline.

02. Understand the logic and complexities of developing, pitching and presenting a multi-art festival, including shaping a curatorial rationale, targeting an audience and documenting the experience
03. Refine professional skills relevant to the Creative Industries including how to pitch an idea, market yourself, present work and write for multiple audiences.
