PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE CONSOLIDATION
Credit points: 15
In this subject students will commence the transition from undergraduate to graduate paramedicine through reflection on and consolidation of knowledge, skills and attributes essential for safe and professional paramedic practice. The subject is divided into two modules, with module one providing a synthesis and refinement of previously acquired knowledge, including critical and reflective practice techniques, emotional intelligence, and leadership principles. Module two introduces the student to preparation for a graduate year in paramedicine, incorporating curriculum vitae and professional portfolio preparation, and exposure to a range of employment techniques utilised for paramedic recruitment. Students will have the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge to practice in the form of mock interviews, clinical panel assessments, and scenario critiques.
