Subject outline

This subject offers you the opportunity to use your disciplinary knowledge and skills to resolve business challenges, by researching, analysing and problem-solving aspects of the challenges. In teams, you will be required to apply entrepreneurship validation tools and relevant knowledge to identify and develop a business opportunity, and individually, you will validate and propose a new business idea, and design the corresponding business model.  The topics covered and assessment tasks provide you with the necessary entrepreneurial skills and tools to prepare for your future career.

Intended Learning Outcomes

01. Analyse an entrepreneur and his/her business venture, critically analyse the opportunity recognition and idea development processes, entrepreneurial traits, evaluating the problems or challenges, and propose suggestions for this entrepreneur and the venture.
02. Participate in a team to identify business opportunities, apply entrepreneurship validation tools to validate your business ideas, and from that to employ relevant strategies to develop a startup venture.
03. Develop a new business idea, evaluate the venture’s feasibility, and design a detailed Business Model for your proposed venture.
