Subject outline

In this subject students will consolidate their theoretical and methodological understanding as it relates to research-led practice and develop an understanding of the requirements in structuring an exegesis and presenting a cohesive exhibition of their work. In weekly seminars students will engage with ideas, theories and methodological frameworks, which will consolidate the thinking underpinning their research question/proposal as it relates to their year-long project. In addition, students will be introduced to curatorial and presentation methods which will assist the development of their year-end exhibition. Seminars will include lectures, tutorials, gallery visits and studio critique sessions. Students will consolidate the relevant skills to complete the writing of their exegesis (7,500-9,000words) in support of their practical work. This subject progresses from the first semester subject VPA4RMA and must be undertaken concurrently with VPA4SPB in Semester 2. Honours can only be completed full time.
