Subject outline

This subject is the second of 6 professional practicum subjects across different specific areas of practice. Students are required to meet competency in 6 specific practice areas to meet professional accreditation requirements. In this subject students are in supervised clinical practice for 20 days over 5 weeks and prescribed independent learning (total subject hours 160). Clinical practicums are supervised by registered physiotherapists and may be organised outside normal teaching weeks. Students will develop specific competencies in the assessment of clients' problems and needs, analysis of assessment findings, formulation of short and long term goals and development, implementation and evaluation of intervention plans. Students will apply specialised knowledge, cognitive and technical skills to demonstrate autonomy, expert judgement, adaptability and responsibility as a learner.
