Subject outline

This subject content is based on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy model (CBT). CBT is a relatively short-term intervention aimed at solving current problems through the evaluations of unhelpful thinking and behaviours. CBT has been shown to have considerable empirical effectiveness for a range of disorders. This subject will provide an overview of cognitive and behavioural models of behaviour and psychological disorders, with a particular focus on case formulation and treatment planning based on the cognitive behavioural model. The subject will also focus on the development of skills relating to CBT, and review process issues in CBT interventions.
