At the completion of this subject, students will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the methods and application of descriptive and analytical epidemiology, explain the uses of different epidemiological study designs, understand the effect of bias, chance and confounding on epidemiological studies, and critically appraise published epidemiological studies. Students will explore in detail some of the practical applications of epidemiology.
