In this subject students examine the effects of psychosocial, social, cultural and attitudinal factors on individual responses to developmental and health transitions and identify conditions which encourage independent functioning and the maintenance of health. Topics addressed include gender and health, work and health, life-course transitions, and culturally diverse communities. Particular attention is paid to implications for practising health promotion and rehabilitation.

03. Apply knowledge from lectures, readings and class discussions to your own personal and professional practice and demonstrate this through writing a reflective journal
04. Integrate your learning from this subject, and from previous subjects taken in your course of study, and demonstrate this through writing a critical essay on a topic selected through reflective journaling, and by making an extended critical response to a selected case study
