This subject introduces you to the underlying theory behind substance use and dependence and the diagnosis and management of substance use disorder. You will review the neurobiology and neuropharmacology of dependence and addiction and analyse and apply the current guidelines in clinical management, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, of substance use disorder and dependence on opioids.

04. Analyse the influences on the patient consultation process and therapeutic relationship and how it may influence a patient's behaviour and the clinician's decision-making in relation to the given situation.
