This subject presents the Law and Ethics of Pharmacy. The State and Federal legislation controlling pharmacy, drugs and poisons, ethical and moral decision making are covered. Students apply the law of negligence to health professionals dealing with the public and discuss the history, structure and function of relevant professional bodies. Supply and evaluation of Over-The-Counter (OTC) medicines, especially S2 & S3, are discussed in detail. In addition this subject is designed to further develop students' critical thinking, writing and speaking skills.
