Quality use of Medicines (QUM) is a concept that underpins the healthcare system in Australia. Students will be introduced to the key concepts that make up QUM, as well as counselling and communication techniques that allow students to gain information from patients and through clinical reasoning make informed decisions in directing patient therapy. Practice Based cases are used to develop discipline specific skills in managing primary healthcare pharmaceutical issues. Pharmaceutical calculations along with ethical and legal issues that regulate the practice of pharmacy in Australia shall be further explored.

04. Apply appropriate laws, code of ethics and professional practice standards related to the practice of pharmacy, and justify an ethically sound resolution.
