PAR3POP
2020
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
In this subject students will consider a range of medical and emergency care conditions relating to the following specific areas: gynaecology, obstetrics and paediatrics. Pre-hospital emergency management of patients, in these patient populations, will be discussed and applied to simulated case presentations. Emphasis will be placed on reflective, evidence-based practice and decision-making, and problem-solving skills needed to manage these population groups. Students will also combine theoretical knowledge, with practical skills, to effectively manage acute emergency gynaecological presentations, both normal and abnormal labour and birth processes, and the most common illnesses and injuries in the paediatric population.
