Subject outline

In this subject, students will be introduced to the foundational conceptual framework for clinical practice. Students will be supported to develop practical skills required for person-centred care and a preliminary understanding of the clinical reasoning process in the context of evidence based practice. Students will be assisted to develop an understanding of the interpersonal, ethical and risk mitigation requirements of the clinical environment. Students will undertake an observational clinical placement. Professional accreditation requires a minimum level of clinical exposure. Students# attendance at professional placements will contribute to meeting this requirement for professional recognition as an orthoptist
