Intended Learning Outcomes

01. Develop skills to read and interpret snow environments; recognise and distinguish animal tracks; interpret evidence of snow deposition and change; read alpine weather signs over time; recognise and identify some aspects of alpine wildlife and vegetation.

02. Design single day ski tours or days within a longer tour in the Winter Alpine environment that demonstrate understanding of safety management, choosing safe ski touring routes, recognising hazards and knowledge of specific areas.

03. Develop the ability to present relevant educational information to a group by converting theory into practice in an innovative and informative way.

04. Understand and experience the use of snow shelters, including emergency shelters and their associated risks.
