In this subject you will describe, apply and critique principles of assessment and intervention for people with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions that impact on their capacity to participate in occupations. Clinical reasoning skills will be established which will be further developed through subsequent subjects. Intervention principles will focus on the use of meaningful occupation and also incorporate environmental supports (advocacy, organisational change, environmental adaptation).

01. Select and justify the use of occupational therapy conceptual and practice models to guide assessment and intervention for people experiencing occupational activity limitations and participation restriction due to musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
02. Critique and apply assessment principles relating to impairment of body function, activity limitations and participation restriction for people living with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
03. Interpret contextual factors relating to adults' physical, institutional, social, and cultural environments and transform this information into intervention designs.
04. Design, communicate and justify occupational therapy interventions for people living with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions using professional reasoning and high quality evidence.
05. Appraise quantitative research using appraisal tools and apply research findings to clinical practice.
