MIDWIFERY IN PRACTICE

NSM4MIP

2020

Credit points: 30

Subject outline

In this clinically focused subject you will develop skills in the provision of midwifery care across the childbirth continuum. This subject enables you to develop clinical proficiency in midwifery and effective communication skills for woman-centred professional practice. This will be achieved through introductory workshops, online discussion forums and engagement in your clinical practice including Continuity of Care Experiences (CoCE). NSM4MIP extends across the duration of the course concluding when all the clinical requirements and competency prescribed by AHPRA for registration as a midwife are complete. You will be required to reflect on your experiences of working with women engaged in CoCE and complete all components of the Midwifery Practice Portfolio.
