NURSING AND MIDWIFERY RESEARCH

NSG2NMR

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary for you to engage in evidence based practice as a nurse and/or midwife. The subject builds on the first year subject Research and Evidence in Practice (HLT1RAE) and aligns with the evidence based modules in the Transition to Bachelor of Nursing (NSG2BNT) subject and the Transition to the Role of Registered Nurse (NSG2TRN) subject in Year 2. Through lectures, online activities, and workshops you will start to think about the origins of varied clinical practices. You will learn to formulate research questions regarding practice that could enhance service, clinician and client outcomes. You will develop skills to conduct literature reviews for research purposes and learn how to critique the evidence found, and explore the ethics of nursing and midwifery research.
