NSG2HPB

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In Health Priorities B you will have the opportunity to extend your clinical knowledge and skills. The material presented in this subject complements the skills and knowledge developed in NSG2ANB. Through lectures, online activities, workshops, and clinical skills laboratories you will explore the aetiology and pathophysiology of disorders of the renal, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal and haematological systems. The subject will also address diagnostics, pharmacology and chronic pain. Particular emphasis is placed on acute exacerbation of chronic disease identified as National Health Priority areas: arthritis, osteoporosis, back pain, bowel and prostate cancer. Understanding of these diseases and their management will be facilitated via the Clinical Reasoning Cycle and the expectation is that students will apply themselves to conceptual mastery.
