NSG2ANA

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject will provide you with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required by Registered nurses in the provision of patient-centred care for persons experiencing an acute illness requiring hospitalisation and/or surgery. Through lectures, online activities, workshops, clinical skills laboratories and a clinical placement you will explore patients with acute healthcare concerns across the lifespan experiencing common cardiovascular, respiratory and endocrine diseases and develop more advanced nursing skills. This will enable you to plan and manage patient care safely in a variety of acute care contexts. The clinical practicum will allow you to integrate theoretical principles to the nursing practice of patients. To achieve the learning outcomes of this subject, you will be expected to complete a range of written and clinical assessments.
