Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject develops your abilities to conduct comprehensive and systematic health assessments across the lifespan and to communicate your findings to others as you develop, plan and provide person-centred care. Through lectures, online activities, workshops, clinical skills laboratories and a clinical placement you will explore appropriate assessment techniques that examine specific physiological, psychological, cultural and social aspects of people. The clinical placement will allow you to undertake assessments with assigned patients and integrate theoretical knowledge and the principles of safety and care into your nursing practice. To achieve the learning outcomes of this subject you will be expected to complete a range of written, verbal and clinical assessments.
