NAN3NST

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

Through a 1-2 week overseas tour, you will gain an understanding of the scope and scale of international activity in the field of nanotechnology. A tailored program will be developed based around available opportunities for visits to international exhibitions, scientific agencies, government agencies and educational institutions. You will learn about professional business conduct and etiquette in an international setting, and develop skills collaborating as a group during the study tour. You will develop an advanced understanding of cultural issues and cultural diversity within a scientific and business context through the creation of a daily reflective journal and post-tour group sharing. The study tour will be offered outside of normal teaching weeks with a pre-departure session on the Melbourne campus followed by a visit to the international country, and a follow-up debriefing on return.
