Students in this subject will examine the trend that has emerged in recent years towards new forms of 'specialist courts' and examine the theoretical explanations for these new approaches to justice. As well, students will be introduced to the theories of therapeutic jurisprudence and restorative justice both in relation to the specific specialist courts but also as a part of a wider trend within justice measures.
