Subject outline

This subject is designed to provide an in-depth study of the legal, business, and technology issues related to building high growth companies through the use of novel technologies, entrepreneurial management, and venture capital. The subject will cover various legal and business issues including incorporation, IP protection, corporate finance, securities laws and building the business. Students will be encouraged to discover and develop the skill set necessary to advise, manage or build high growth businesses. The subject is designed to reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of entrepreneurship. It will attempt to expand each student's skill set to include: what makes a good entrepreneur, linkages of technology to entrepreneurship, and novel legal responses to issues.
