This subject introduces students to the fundamentals of international commercial dispute settlement and relevant bodies that operate in Asia. An overseas study tour is undertaken to develop an understanding of the legal and cultural context of the various dispute settlement bodies and how they fit within the broader spectrum of global dispute settlement. Students will learn about each country's legal culture and its approach to dispute settlement mechanisms from both a governmental policy perspective as well as the national legal practitioners perspective.
