Subject outline

In this subject students continue to develop advanced spoken and written skills in Italian, to improve their analytical skills, and to deepen their understanding of Italian culture and society. Students work on specific linguistic skills and undertake an in-depth study of one or more literary texts. This subject aims to raise students to the threshold of language professionalism (Level C1 in the Common European Framework of References for Languages).

02. Understand a wide range of text types, including linguistically complex texts, literary works and audio-visual texts, appreciate distinctions of style, and write critically and in an appropriate register about the topics these texts explore

03. Work in pairs or as part of a team, with a commitment to shared goals and appropriate interpersonal skills, perform oral tasks in Italian that require complex critical thinking and skills of analysis and synthesis

04. Engage critically with literary and audio-visual texts and summarise and analyse such texts in culturally appropriate and precise spoken Italian
