This subject examines how science fiction narratives can allow us to imagine myriad human futures. Drawing on a number of key texts, including novels, film, short stories and television, students will critically analyse science fiction narratives, considering how the authors provide social commentary, reflect on the past, and help us to better understand our hopes and fears, while suggesting visions of alternative futures.
