In this subject you will be introduced to types, uses and applications, of personal and aggregate health data and other information within Australian healthcare agencies. Administrative and clinical systems used for capturing health information on individual patients and clients will be examined. Clinical recording methodologies, health information standards and decision support systems are introduced. The uses of aggregate data are studied in relation to information systems; health information flow; and health data quality and integrity. Case studies and enquiries are used to apply critical theories to health applications.
