Subject outline

In this capstone subject you will extend your discipline-specific research skills, teamwork skills and scientific communication skills by engaging in authentic scientific activities. In groups you will develop a research proposal, implement a project and present the findings. You will gather, synthesise and critically evaluate scientific literature which will provide the foundation for development of the research question, experimental design and methodology. Budgetary, ethical, interpersonal and safety issues will be considered. You will communicate the findings in authentic format to scientific peers (e.g. research article, poster) and non-expert audiences. This subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation & Entrepreneurship Essential. Innovation and Entrepreneurship entails developing the ability to tackle problems creatively, generating new ideas, taking calculated risks and creating change to achieve ambitions - now and in the future.
