Subject outline
In this subject students will gain a broad understanding of regional economic development processes, focusing on Australian and international examples. Weekly classes will introduce students to contested understandings of 'the economy' and explore how neoliberalism, globalisation, and increasing urbanisation present challenges and opportunities for diverse forms of regional development. Along the way we will consider how diverse social, cultural and political contexts shape regional economic development in different ways.
