SOCIAL JUSTICE: THEORY TO PRACTICE

EDU5SJE

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject, students will engage with some of the foundational "big ideas" around social justice required to understand and enact social change and sustainable futures. Through critical reflection and exploration, students will critically analyse historical circumstances and socio-economic theories related to social class, gender, 'race', sexuality, gender and disability. Utilising a praxis-oriented perspective, merging theory and practice, students will be required to develop advanced and integrated analysis of current policies and best practice that may inform their future work as researchers and practitioners.
