In this subject you will explore issues related to well-being and school responsiveness. You will examine the topics of trauma, anxiety, depression and bullying to understand how complex personal and socio-cultural issues can impinge on wellness and learning. You will apply principles from various health promotion frameworks to whole school approaches and classroom strategies to promote learning. You will examine how schools and individual teachers can take a proactive stance to improve well-being.

01. Critically analyse the causes and prevalence of wellness issues for students in schools and assess how they may influence learning
02. Analyse the influences that various challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression and bullying may have on learning
03. Explain and justify whole school approaches to mental health and well-being and model the role that critical reflection may have in classroom management
04. Evaluate school policies, resources and processes to address the well-being needs of the students and to inform and propose future actions to improve school responsiveness
05. Examine the principles that underpin relational agency in schools and classrooms and determine how those principles may inform pedagogy and learning for student who have experienced well-being issues.
