Subject outline

In the context of meeting the needs of individuals and society this subject is aimed at extending students' experiences with and knowledge of technologies, design, materials and systems. Participants prepare to teach (i) the Design Creativity and Technology Domain of AusVELS (Victorian); and (ii) Design and Technology, Food Technology and Systems Engineering VCE Study Designs. Students cover the development of design skills, knowledge and understanding of good design, and the design process whilst nurturing creativity and innovation through designing and making.

01. Develop a deep understanding of the range of different curriculum documentation that is applicable to the areas of Technology and design
02. Demonstrate the ability to extract information from a range of curriculum documents and synthesise these as a foundation to teaching and learning the VCE technology-orientated study designs
03. Develop a deep understanding of the design process as it is used throughout VCE technology orientated programs
04. Develop a deep understanding of the relationship between the various steps in the design process and folio production
05. Demonstrate the production of a folio that mirrors the design process as used in VCE Technology and design programs
