Subject outline

EDU4LML will build upon earlier studies in EDU2ELL. The subject focuses on current research in the field of literacy, with an emphasis on multi-literacies and the impact of multimodal resources on literacy development. The subject has a focus on the needs of students with learning difficulties or disabilities. Teaching and learning through print, visual and multimodal texts will provide insight into inclusive teaching strategies, critical literacy and the links between language, literacy and literature. This knowledge will assist students to plan and implement units of work as well as differentiating the learning activities and assessment tasks for students with a specific learning needs.
