Subject outline

In this subject you will undertake a full range of treatments for patients. Building upon your previous clinical experience, the level of complexity expected will be appropriate to final-year students. You will undertake two clinical placements in public dental facilities. You will also have the opportunity to observe specialist practitioners at work. You will refine your skills in clinical care and patient motivation to gain optimal health to levels required for beginner level independent practice. At the end of the year, you should be able to provide evidence that you are competent and safe in the provision of care over a broad range of areas to enable you to register as a dental practitioner.
