Subject outline

This is a creative arts practice subject in which students working in groups or individually, research, design and execute a project based on definitions of 'creativity' and 'constraint'. Students engage in a creative practice within a 'community' in its broadest terms and present their work within the campus in a simulated gallery exhibition that is open to the public. Each project has three practical phases: development, based on research and critical thinking; action via experimentation, refinement and articulation; and reflection through practical implementation and communication. The subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Essential where students will be developing the ability to tackle problems creatively, generating new ideas, taking calculated risks and creating change to achieve ambitions.
