The Sport Study Tour will provide you with the opportunity to extend your formal academic learning beyond the local classroom into the global sport environment. By participating in this program you will enhance your professional skills and knowledge, and broaden your networks in an international sport setting. The program aims to provide Sport Management and Sport Development students with a unique experience to immerse yourself in the UK sport system while based at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). This program will provide unique access to the professional and community elements of the UK sport system, leveraging the La Trobe University partnership with MMU and their partners such as Manchester City FC, Manchester City Council and UK Sport. Participating in this study tour in the multicultural and sporting city of Manchester will enhance your understanding of different cultural contexts, values and practices, as part of the process of becoming and global citizen.

01. Explore the UK sport system, specifically the focus of UK national sport policy, the delivery of community sport programs in a multicultural setting, community and elite sport facility and event management issues, and the operations of professional sport clubs.

03. Critically evaluate the media and communications challenges faced by contemporary sport organisations and their partner organisations in dealing with fans, members, owners, stakeholders and commercial partners.
