One group oral presentation (500-words equivalent, per student)In a group, students will prepare a presentation containing detailed explanations of the experiments carried out in the laboratory over the course of the subject alongside an accurate analysis of the results observed. Students will receive a group mark based on presentation, scientific accuracy, and an even contribution from team members.

Four written reports on data analysis (1,200-words equivalent)Students must complete 4 worksheets (5% each) that largely focus on data analysis. Students will be assessed on their theoretical understanding of protein chemistry techniques and their ability to evaluate experimental protocols and results.

One applied learning activity and one presentation on scientific data (each 500-words equivalent)Students will work through a series of modules to understand and develop a procedure for solving a laboratory based problem. Students will be assessed and provided feedback at each stage, culminating with the execution of the practical. This activity is worth 10% of the marks for this subject.Students will also complete a results presentation exercise to practice preparing figures

One product information sheet (1,000-words)Students will produce a Certificate of Analysis that will contain background information for the protein they have characterised in the laboratory together with the results of the experiments carried out. The final assignment should be researched, written and formatted as if it were a professional document.
