Subject outline

Biochemistry and molecular biology are concerned with the function of biological systems at the molecular level. Biochemistry is central to most studies in biology and life sciences and is directly related to medical and agricultural research and biotechnology. In this unit students will extend previous knowledge gained from their biochemistry subjects related to gene expression, protein chemistry, bioinformatics, gene structure and function and relate them to a cellular biology context. In this semester, students study the molecular events of cellular biogenesis, cell signalling, molecular
