This subject introduces you to the fundamental clinical assessment procedures used in the audiological evaluation of adult patients. Through lectures and online workshop activities, you will be taught how to take case histories , perform otoscopy, pure tone audiometry, acoustic immittance tests as well as speech discrimination tests. You will explore clinical decision making skills, as you learn to select and administer appropriate tests, to interpret and integrate your audiological findings and write comprehensive reports incorporating referrals and appropriate management strategies.

01. Integrate theoretical knowledge about diagnostic pure tone audiometric assessment techniques to generate sound clinical hypotheses.
02. Integrate theoretical knowledge about tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing and speech audiometry assessment techniques to generate sound clinical hypotheses.
03. Accurately determine the nature and level of hearing impairment through appropriate diagnostic testing.
04. Clearly report complex audiological problems and proposed solutions based on test results.
05. Develop appropriate management plans and referral pathways based on professional knowledge and test results.
