Subject outline

The Painting Elective offers students a broad understanding of the language of painting. The course focuses on providing students with technical skills relating to processes, materials and supports, as well as knowledge of the conceptual and historical frameworks that define contemporary painting practice. Students will investigate a variety of methodologies that make up the extensive branch of knowledge we understand to be painting. Students will explore the medium in an immersive and experiential studio-based context.
