Subject outline

This subject will introduce detailed knowledge and skills required for aquatic animal and feeding management in varieties of aquaculture systems in order to gain economically optimal growth. In addition, this subject develops practical knowledge and skills required on feed formulation and nutritional composition, identify sustainable and suitable food form and types, feeding equipment including automatic feeders, feeding behaviour and feeding frequency. You will have the opportunity to obtain practical skills to conduct feeding experiments and trials using prepared feeds and evaluate of diet performance a t the Melbourne Polytechnic Aquaculture Training and Research Centre.
