Subject outline

Foundations of Property Law introduces students to fundamental concepts of property law in Australia. This subject involves consideration of the notion of property and of proprietary interests and focuses on real and personal property. Topics include: the concept of property; acquisition and regulation of title to property including possession, title and ownership; the importance of relativity of title; creation and disposition of property interests; introduction to statutory schemes of registration of property interests.

03. Advanced knowledge and critical evaluation of the key legal doctrines that underpin Australian Property law.

04. High order to skill in evaluating claims made for property interests in a given fact situation, using appropriate legal doctrine.

05. Ability to solve complex problems and to think rigorously and independently by preparing written legal opinion as it applies to problems in property law.
